Roland Brival

… has lived in Paris since his childhood. Brival is not only an outstanding poet, but has also published various novels. He also works as musician, sculptor, and painter. He has also been active as a playwright. His paintings have been exhibited at the ›Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris‹ in the 1970s. His book ›Nègre de personne‹, which was published by Gallimard in 2016, is a novelesque biography of the poet and late politican Léon-Gontran Damas (1912-1987), born in French-Guyana. Brival lived in New York for many years. His poetry, lyrics, and songs mirror that experience. He has recorded six CDs so far, most recently ›Circonstances aggravantes‹ (2014).
